That’s why it’s called Mooveez.

As you’ve probably heard many times, learning a language is about repetition, a lot of repetition.
There are so many things you have to learn and concentrate on: correct pronunciation, intonation and grammar, for the speaking part.
And understanding the native speakers, for the listening part.
To be able to do all that, you can’t do without the necessary words. You can’t circumvent the basics, that’s for sure.
What are the words you need to know?
Did you know there are about 1,000 words that represent about 60% of common vocabulary? Words like “go”, “speak”, “decide”, for example. We use them all the time and if you learn them as the starting base, you can build upon them and extend your vocabulary. So remember:
1,000 words = 60% of common vocabulary
Now considering the fact each film in the app contains over 2,000 words, you can pick any of them you like and start learning by watching and having fun.
Why do I think it’s the best app for learning and how did I find it
My friend, a renowned dentist that has been improving her English with this tool told me about this app. I gave it a try and was really amazed so let’s have a look what is it all about and how it works.
Where can you get it
You can download the app for free in App Store or in Google Play. After downloading, there will be a guide taking you through but you can skip this part, it’s quite easy to work with.
There are movies in Spanish, English, German, Russian and French in the app. Some of them are for free and some of them can be accessed only if you have paid subscription. I will mention the price later, but now let me show you the functions in more detail.
The choice i.e. the number of films grows. New films have been added in time.
How does it work
Every movie is split in short “lessons” of about 5 minutes. You can watch the movie on full screen or just on the top half of your screen and below it there are sentences in the original language on the left side and translated on the right side.
There is an amazing feature – Audio Flashcards. Adding certain phrases to your flashcards, you can replay them over and over again. Every time you play them, the scene from the movie is replayed in your brain as well and by hearing it many times, there is big chance you remember them.
So first you create you flashcards and then you actively use them. You can do that any time as often as you want.
Quizzes – practicing grammar easily
Another great tool here: quizzes. There are several of them after each lesson. All you have to do is inserting correct words in spaces, choose from three of four options and check the correct one etc. It is an easy way of practicing grammar without getting bored or annoyed.
There are some other great tools in the app but I don’t want to write an essay here 🙂 When you try it yourself, you will easily find all the features. And when you do, let me know how you like it!
If you pay your subscription after the 2 weeks trial, you will be paying $13 a month or $130 a year with an unlimited choice of all movies available in the app.
I am usually very careful when it comes down to money. I always check all the pros and cons to see if it’s really worth the money and if it’s good for me. So if I do purchase something, it has to be THE THING. In this case, I saw it immediately. Actually, it saves you money you would pay for a language course or to a teacher if you wanted to have lessons every day. Here you can have your mini-lessons anytime you wish (for best results, every day).
There is always some flaw, isn’t it? In my opinion, there are these disadvantages of the app:
1. you can only use it on your mobile phone (or tablet), not on computer or laptop. It’s not the end of the world, obviously, but your vision is bad like mine, you would appreciate having the app on a bigger screen.
2. there are some small flaws when it comes down to the quizzes but I haven’t found many and I guess they might be solved in future upgrades.
As I’m a teacher, my students often ask me what’s the best tool for learning, what films I would recommend to them etc. Many people say it’s hard for them to watch the full movie when they are beginners and have problems with understanding. Well, this is a simple and comprehensive way how to improve your understanding and speaking quickly.
If you use the app every day, it boosts your progress like nothing else.
So, if you want to learn Spanish (or German, French or Russian), download the app in your AppStore or GooglePlay and if you opt for yearly membership, you can use a promotion code NEUBAUER10 in Settings to get 10% discount!
I recommend this app to all of my students in my English lessons because it really is the best app for learning Spanish I have found so far.
