how to get website rank higher in google

How to get ranked in google

Posted on 2019-11-202020-03-12

Are you a blogger and want to get your content to as many people as possible?
Do you have a company that needs more customers whom to sell your special products or services?
In both cases you definitely want to know how to get ranked in google with your website.

Why?

Because if no one finds your articles, no one is going to read them. Then you mainly write them for youself. And that’s not what you aim, is it?

People can find you only if you know what words they use when they are looking for things in google. Keywords.

Keywords – what are they?

In case you don’t know what keywords are, I’m going to try to explain in in as simplest way as possible.
A keyword in the sense of optimization for ranking is a word people look up when they look for something online. It can be one word or more words.

A keyword can also be a sentence, e.g. how to make a raw cake or group of word like the best iphone apps.

When you write an article for your blog or your company website, you need to do some research about the keywords related to your niche. What is a niche? It’s your specific area of business.

Just a few examples of niches:

  • toys for pets
  • products for sensitive skin
  • gardening tools
  • affiliate programs
  • weight loss products

Now for your niche, no matter what it is, you need a keyword for each blog post that will appear in the headline, in the first paragraph of your article and if possible once again somewhere in the middle or at the end of the article. It must be the same keyword.

There can be thousands of keywords in every niche. Each of your articles should have a different keyword you haven’t used yet but in respect with your niche.

But how you find out which keyword is better and which is worse?

You need a keyword research.

If you want to read a more in-depth description of keyword research, you can look at it in wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyword_research

How to get ranked in google? Keywords are the key!

Let’s say your niche is skin care products, specifically products for sensitive skin, rash etc. It doesn’t matter if you’re a blogger writing about your experience with sensitive skin or a company making skincare products. In both cases you need to know what people look for in google regarding skincare.

You can either guess what would people write in the google search box or you can do a proper search.

Because there is a tricky thing as well. Not only the right keyword but also the number of competitors counts.

Jaaxy – keyword research tool

To find out all the information you need to choose the right keyword that would help you to achieve best ranking in long term, you need a keyword research tool.

One of the most comprehensive keyword research tools is Jaaxy.

To see what I’m talking about, have a look at the screen shot from Jaaxy:

Jaaxy search

The first column Avg shows the average number of people looking for this keyword.

The second column tells you the visits to your website per month if you achieve first page ranking.

The third column QSR is the number of competing websites for this keyword.

When you look at the first line, there is a QSR of 232 which is way too much.

Our goal is to have QSR under 100.

So you can see there’s a big difference if your keyword is products for sensitive skin or facial products for sensitive skin.

This, of course, applies to all niches.

There are many other factors that affect the ranking of your article in search engines as well such as how old your website (the older, the more trust it gains) or what’s the quality of your content.

Practice of SEO

The entire practice having all the necessary steps done for good ranking is called search engine optimization (SEO). You need a plugin on your website that will show you all the necessary tasks in order to achieve the best SEO. I personally use Yoast SEO plugin and I’m very happy with it.

But let’s get back to Jaaxy.

It is a powerful tool and it can do much more than just the keyword search.

Let’s look at the following overview:

Jaaxy options

As you can see, it doesn’t only provide a keyword search but it can also scan your site rank, give you new brainstorming ideas for keywords in your niche, find affiliate programs, analyse your competition websites and much more.

There are options for Jaaxy for any budget, from someone just starting out, to someone that understands the importance of keyword research, to big companies making use of all the comprehensive features you can think of.

So the answer to the question how to get ranked in google is obvious: to have a powerful keyword research tool.

Jaaxy, being one of the best tools, offers three options to choose from and the first option is free, as you can see in the screen shot above.

Jaaxy Starter = Free

Jaaxy Pro = $49 per month

Jaaxy Enterprise = $99 per month

Check it out here:

Choose the Jaaxy that suits you best and let your blog or your company website benefit from it!

Jane, I’m so glad I could help you understand what are keywords good for! I remember when I first heard about them from someone, I was confused too. I didn’t know if it’s just one word or more words, if you should use one or more keywords in an article and so on.
Of course you can get back to me with questions, any time!
It takes time and you need to put this into practice before you get used to it.

Great info. Jaaxy is a great tool. I have been using it for a while now and it helps a lot in the long run. I highly recommend it. Your post also touches on some of the most important factors besides Jaaxy such as SEO and the idea behind the niches and important keywords that makes a difference when it comes to writing content.

I just wanted to simplify all the process as SEO is considered a complicated topic by many. It took me a while to get grip of it but when I finally understood it in depth, I could sum it all up in this article. I always need to understand things from the very basics.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Jaaxy.

When trying to rank on the search engines, it is very paramount to get keywords because they help to know how we structure our content. For me, the most important thing is this and making sure that my website is easily accessible. This is mainly because I have learnt that in ranking the speed of the website is another very important factor. This is a nice post, thank you.

You are absolutely right, the site speed is very important too. And also the fact if the site is mobile friendly. Search engines evaluate many factors but to learn how to include keywords into the blog posts is one of the basic requirements if an author wants to be found by people. Thanks for stopping by!

    Hey Lenka!

I am glad to find your article, which is another positive article about the keyword research tool that I use too! Yes, we need online visibility and traffic for our sites, and using keywords in our posts (titles included) is a must.

The more niche-related keywords we use, the better are our chances to reach good ranks in Google. Isn’t it true? We can also use Jaaxy from within the WA platform without signing up separately, although being WA Premium members doesn’t automatically provide us a complete Jaaxy license too. It’s Jaaxy Lite – this is what I am using myself right now, and my keyword list contains almost 100 terms.

Again, better ranks matter to us! Let’s have good luck with it!

    Kind regards, Peter

Your explanation is very good because it explains very aptly what keywords are. I have heard about the Jaaxy research tool but do not know what it really is and how it works. Now that I’ve found out, I will know how to make use of it when the time comes for me and I need it. The price is not bad at all. Very good. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah of course, the purpose of every written article is for an audience to read them and get the information being communicated. One of the most painful things is to write a very informative and helpful post and nobody gets to read it. As a matter of fact, it pains to the bone marrow; that’s why I find this article very useful.

Thanks for the guide on SEO and Keywords and for the tool you have recommended. I definitely love it.

Good day to you. I am impressed by your article. But I believe aside from getting the keywords right, when you’re writing, you should always seek to offer some sort of value to your readers. What can you tell them that no one else can? This is because people seek for specific things when they use the search engines. I would try out Jaaxy. Thank you.

You are absolutely right, Jennifer! Every article should address some needs of people and contain valuable information. I suppose many bloggers do that. However, if they only write and don’t use any keywords related to their topic, no one finds them. It has to be both.

Hi, thank you for this post. I had little or no knowledge about getting high ranking on Google. Although I had previous experience in editorial positions, as an editor‐in‐chief for the first time, and for a new journal, I have had a steep learning curve in the past 18 months. Your explanation has helped me a lot. I am going to try out some new approach and to see where it leads.

Hi Lenka. Thank you for sharing this post on how to get ranked in Google. I have heard about this Jaaxy keyword research tool before now and how useful it is. I will launch my website latest January next year and I will be needing a keyword research tool for proper search engine optimisation so as to get my beautiful and helpful article out to my potential customers and readers.

Will it also help me to get good rankings in other search engines like Bing and Yahoo? Thanks.

There are so many online programs with big promises to make you rich etc. However, some of them (if not the majority) are not honest and only use tricks to make you buy.

I have to say that I was personally stuck and disgusted seeing so many scams that it was hard for me to believe there might be something honest and worth the money.

The purpose of this website is to help you make a good choice and save you money and time. But keep in mind everything I write on this website is based on my personal experience or my perception so the final decision is yours.
